Mapping and Field Sampling

Overview: 

This activity is intended to introduce students to mapping and methods used to sample study areas (i.e. quadrat sampling, belt transects). Emphasis is placed on the importance of being able to map and monitor natural areas, with some insight into the differences between sampling techniques.

2. National Science Content Standard F: All students should develop an understanding of populations, resources, and environments
